We reach this goal by rigorously respecting the technical specifications, the requirements of classification agencies and, most importantly, the owner’s expectations”.
Meeting the owner’s expectations is important with respect to the aesthetic, technical and functional aspects of the yacht, but also the construction process and customer care.
The first condition in order to attain this goal is to ensure that all of the parts involved, from the owner to the subcontractors, are operating according to the same set of standards. How can these standards be defined? Some of the parameters are objective and can be quantified. This is one perspective that Benetti promotes and fully supports; take for example, the criteria for analyzing and measuring paints.
But quality standards are measured with different parameters by a variety of people involved through the various stages of the process – starting from the X-rays taken of the hull’s welding, all the way to measuring the comfort level onboard the finished yacht. Completely subjective parameters of evaluation exist as well. Above all, is that of the owner; his yacht must satisfy, most importantly, his personal taste and expectations.
To manage this complex issue, at Benetti we have found that the key element in evaluation can be none other than the owner’s satisfaction in the broader sense of the word – incorporating the experience of the building process, in which the concept of openness is crucially important.
Building a positive relationship with the clients, actively involving them and guiding them through the long process in which the yacht takes form, sharing all of the options with them, working with them at each step and maintaining transparency with technical representatives in order to make the best decisions together. This gives the owner the peace of mind that he is buying an item representative of the best marriage between engineering and craftsmanship, the combination upon which the Italian nautical industry has secured its role as an international leader.
Knowing that we have satisfied the client, while at the same time designing and constructing the best possible product, is exactly what gives meaning to our work.
To achieve the highest level of quality, planning the project well and carrying it out as planned is fundamental, right from the start. The ability to visualize and organize in advance the path needed to arrive at the ideal result, a project that will last at least two consecutive years, is key. And for this reason, our team is already working on a yacht, which is still only a dream for the owner.
Benetti’s Quality Division consists of as a team of 10 people. They are all committed to constantly and thoroughly following the production process of each yacht – from the very beginning, all the way to the launch.
